This greatly increases the chance of saving a life, not to mention reducing the risk of broken ribs or other intrathoracic damage which cause unnecessary complications in recovery.
The new Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines recommends the use of prompt/ feedback devices to improve the quality of CPR.
So, unlike other models that rely on simply how hard you are pushing to hopefully guide you as to the effectiveness of your CPR, this new technology does not rely on any guesswork at all. It is literally determining how effective the you are doing CPR, including how well the blood is being circulated through the heart.

New changes to Australian Resuscitation Guidelines recommends the use of prompt devices to improve CPR quality. The 500P is outstanding in this regard as it provides real-time feed-back while the rescuer is performing chest compressions. It instructs the rescuer to push harder or softer, faster or slower, and when compressions are being done correctly it will say good compressions. All of this feedback is based on real time cardiac output, that means how well the rescuer is getting the heart to pump blood around the body. This is a lot more accurate than other devices on the market that have a depth sensor which provides an arbitrary depth measurement regardless of the victims size.
The HeartSine Samaritan 300P has all the features of the 500P except for the CPR advisor technology. This public access defibrillator has a 7year warranty and a unique combined battery and pad-pack with a 4 year life from date of manufacture. After an event the complete pad-pak is replaced, which means you have a brand new battery for the next event. This is more cost effective than many other devices with expensive so-called long life batteries, when costed over the life of the device.
Designed for home use this is a single use AED. It has a standard SD card (camera card) to record the event, with up to 6 hours monitoring, so this makes it ideal for remote locations such as farms or on yachts.
